New Nokia slide phone, the 6700 is expected in early 2010

Nokia 6700 SlideTo complement the beginning of 2010, Nokia have announced the release of their new phone, the sliding Nokia 6700. Expected to be released in the first quarter of 2010, with a price tag of around £140, the phone features all new 3G capabilities and social networking functions. The phone comes in 6 different vibrant colors, so you are bound to find a color to suit you. The phone also comes complete with a 5.0megapixel camera built in, designed to take photos when you want. The camera is so powerful that it can actually capture moving images, such as running animals or fast cars etc, so you will always have a camera on hand to take a great looking shot. Once taken, you can edit the photo on the phone it itself, and then transfer it to a computer for viewing at a later date and editing.

The 3G technology is incorporated into the phone to give you direct access to social networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and twitter, allowing you to always keep friends and family in the loop even when you are away from home. With a large 2.2 inch screen you can view all your favorite websites without worrying about losing quality of the site, as well as viewing everything you would see on a computer.

The new Nokia Slide Phone 6700 is expected around March 2010, and although the exact phone companies that will be offering the phone are not known, it is expected on the major ones on a pay as you go as well as a contract plan. So if you like the look of this new Nokia phone, then wait around until March, and you will be able to get your hands on one.

Will The LG GW990 Change the Handset Game?

LG GW990There has been a lot of excitement surrounding the upcoming release of the LG GW990 mobile phone. Paul Otellini in his keynote speech at the CES demoed the phone for the first time publicly. Because the GW990 is one of the few unique offerings in the mobile phone market there has been a lot of excitement concerning it. The LG GW990 will use the Linux Based Moblin 2.1 operating system based on the Intel Moorsetown platform. This particular handset has been classified as a mobile Internet device (MID).

This is not the first time a phone of this sort has been considered. Different companies have played with the concept but never developed a product for market. The GW990 will be the first phone of its type actually available for sale. The release date is scheduled to be sometime during the third and fourth quarter of 2010.

One of the best features of the GW990 is its full touchscreen. It is a whopping 4.8 inches and has a 1024 x 480 resolution.  The aspect ratio is 2.13:1 and the handset provides support for the LTE 4G Tech, which makes the GW990 have an elongated form similar to that used by the earlier LG Chocolate phones. The amount of memory that comes standard with the phone is pretty impressive, at 16 GB. Individuals who require more will be able to add memory via the phone’s microSD card slot.

The GW990 is being advertised by LG as a combination between a handset and a PC. Though it is obviously not a PC, it can perform in similar manners and is quite powerful or a mobile phone. Individuals interested in purchasing the LG GW990 will be able to do so sometime later this year. It has not yet been priced by LG but that information should be forthcoming, probably closer to the phone’s actual release date.
