The Dell Mini 3 is Finally Leaving Asia
The Dell Mini 3 has already been released in Asia. It has yet to be made available in other markets but Dell has plans for it to be soon. They have already selected telecom providers to distribute the phone in many places in the world. They include AT&T (United States), China Mobile (China), Vodafone (New Zealand, Europe and Australia), Starhub and M1 (Singapore), Maxis (Malaysia) and Claro (Brazil).
The Mini 3 is a 3G phone on the Android platform. It has a 3.5 HD widescreen, touch screen display, handwriting recognition, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Bluetooth connectivity, built-in GPS, Mini USB port and multi touch UI. Individuals can add up to 32 GB of memory via the phone’s MicroSD card slot. The handset weights 103 grams and has the following measurements, 58 x 122 x 11.7mm.
The Dell Mini 3 is a nice, attractive phone. Its’ specs are good. It’s fast and runs on the most coveted and seemingly hottest platform, the Android. There has been some talk that the specs will be changed when the phone reaches other markets. Some contend that as is, the phone won’t be very competitive in other parts of the world such as Europe and the United States. The reviews of the Asian-version of the phone have been mixed. Some people have high opinions of it, while others do not.
One pretty cool feature, though it’s not particularly unique anymore, is the phone’s social networking integration. Users will be able to check and update their Facebook and Twitter pages. Individuals that are high involved in social networking sites such as the ones listed above will appreciate this, though this isn’t one of the phone’s best features, it is a good one and one that is becoming much more common.
As it is, it seems that the Dell Mini is a pretty decent phone, though there is some doubt that it will be able to compete in the price range that it is asking in countries outside of Asia. Because of this, there is some speculation regarding what the phone will look like when it is made available in other countries. This information will likely be released closer to those launch dates.
