The Dell Mini 3 is Finally Leaving Asia

Dell Mini 3The Dell Mini 3 has already been released in Asia. It has yet to be made available in other markets but Dell has plans for it to be soon. They have already selected telecom providers to distribute the phone in many places in the world. They include AT&T (United States), China Mobile (China), Vodafone (New Zealand, Europe and Australia), Starhub and M1 (Singapore), Maxis (Malaysia) and Claro (Brazil).

The Mini 3 is a 3G phone on the Android platform. It has a 3.5 HD widescreen, touch screen display, handwriting recognition, 3.2 megapixel camera with auto-focus, Bluetooth connectivity, built-in GPS, Mini USB port and multi touch UI. Individuals can add up to 32 GB of memory via the phone’s MicroSD card slot. The handset weights 103 grams and has the following measurements, 58 x 122 x 11.7mm.

The Dell Mini 3 is a nice, attractive phone. Its’ specs are good. It’s fast and runs on the most coveted and seemingly hottest platform, the Android. There has been some talk that the specs will be changed when the phone reaches other markets. Some contend that as is, the phone won’t be very competitive in other parts of the world such as Europe and the  United States. The reviews of the Asian-version of the phone have been mixed. Some people have high opinions of it, while others do not.

One pretty cool feature, though it’s not particularly unique anymore, is the phone’s social networking integration. Users will be able to check and update their Facebook and Twitter pages. Individuals that are high involved in social networking sites such as the ones listed above will appreciate this, though this isn’t one of the phone’s best features, it is a good one and one that is becoming much more common.

As it is, it seems that the Dell Mini is a pretty decent phone, though there is some doubt that it will be able to compete in the price range that it is asking in countries outside of Asia. Because of this, there is some speculation regarding what the phone will look like when it is made available in other countries. This information will likely be released closer to those launch dates.

The Samsung C3510 Genoa Received A Facelift

Samsung C3510 GenoaSamsung is making the Samsung C3510 Genoa available in Europe sometime during the early part of 2010. This phone is an offshoot of the original Samsung C3510 Corby Pop which was available only in India.  Along with the market’s expansion will be changes made to the phone, though they are minimal.  The phones still look a great deal alike, though some design options have  been dropped in order to reduce the price.

The Genoa will be available for €100 and $150.  As one can see, this is on the lower end of the mobile phone price spectrum and the specs also fall in this range.  It has many of the same features as more expensive handsets, they just aren’t as good. For example, instead of a 3.0 megapixel phone it is a 1.3 megapixel camera. For some individuals this won’t matter, for others it will.  Those more concerned with price and are interested primarily in the ability of being able to make and receive calls, may not worry so much about the extras.

Along with the 1.3 megapixel camera, the handset has a 2.8 resistive touch screen display with QVGA resolution.  Individuals will be able to add up to 8 GB of memory using the microsd card slot.

Social networking integration is one of the phone’s main features.  Individuals are able to get live alerts and update their status on Facebook, Myspace and Twitter. They are also able to upload photos to Fllickr and Picassa to share with others. The SCG uses a Quadband GSM EDGE connection, giving individuals the ability to search online.

Those in needs of a good, fairly inexpensive mobile phone may find this to be a great option. It offers a nice, functional one with great basics and social networking integration. Individuals who are highly involved in social networking will be able to appreciate the Samsung C3510 Genoa.

Internet giant Google release their own brand smart phone

Google Nexus OneEverybody, or at least most people will have heard of Google. The most visited website on the planet, and worth billions of £s, Google have dominated the internet market by using many of their applications, most commonly their search engine, and more recently YouTube, Google Maps and Google Trends. At a Private invitation only viewing at the Google headquarters, they reveled the new phone which is a slim touch screen phone designed to carry out many tasks at the same time.

Running on Google’s Android system, the Nexus One is designed to be used by businessmen and families alike, allowing you to combine your work life with your personal life. At the moment, the phone is available from Google’s website only, and can only be taken out on a T Mobile plan in the US. In Europe the phone will be available on Vodafone, although contract prices and deals are currently a bit unclear. When the phone was unveiled, Google stated that the phone was “a point of convergence where the web meets phone and is an example of what is possible on mobile through Android.”

The exact specifications of the phone are currently unknown, but many great features are expected, including heavy integration with Google products, meaning you can access things like YouTube and Google trends straight from an application rather than having to go through an internet browser to look at it. The Nexus One is expected to be very popular following on from Google’s many other Android phones, which are available in over 20 versions, though admittedly not Google’s own make. “You will see it pushes the limits of what is possible on a mobile phone today,” said Peter Chou, HTC chief executive.
