For only around £400 you can get your hands on your own desire. That’s around £140 cheaper than the famed iPhone 3GS.

Android Smart Phones Getting Froyo Update
Google has finally released a final build of the Android 2.2 Froyo update and that file is now available for people to download. Many have reported that the update does not appear on their handsets which means that this patch will not work on all Android operating systems. It has been confirmed that users would need to have the FRF50 firmware if they want to get the latest version of the Android.
Initial tests on the new Android 2.2 Froyo shows that Google has been true to their word in terms of the improved performance; the screens shift faster, apps and features load quicker and overall, the phone experience feels a lot smoother. In some ways, the update makes it feel like the CPU itself has been boosted in speed.
Web browsing has also been improved in the case of loading Java faster, however, since some internet connections are really slow, it is hard to see the big improvement –though when the connection is fast and stable and users are viewing pages with plenty of Java script, the performance boost is pretty noticeable.
Tethering and turning the handset into a WiFi hotspot have been confirmed, though these have yet to be tested. The feature has been much in demand among many smart phone owners in order to make full use of many 3G data plans and the inclusion of this to the Android is a welcome addition.
Naturally, the most anticipated feature is the Adobe Flash Player. Fortunately, Android smart phone owners do not need to wait any longer as Adobe has already released the downloadable Flash Player update just two days ago. The software development company was met with surprised and confused reactions from people as the player was only compatible with Android 2.2 and only the Nexus One has the OS at that time. Users of HTC’s Desire handset are expecting an update to Froyo soon.

T-Mobile offers Desire and X10 Ahead of Time
There are a couple of high end Android smart phones being offered by T-Mobile. The HTC Desire and the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 are two of the best Android devices to be ever launched. Aside from the already released Google phone, Nexus One, there are no other Android smart phones that use the Snapdragon processor clocked at a speed of 1GHz (the Acer Liquid did use a Snapdragon, but that was under clocked to below 800MHz).
Vodafone and Orange mobile also expressed that they will soon offer the device as well but no release date has been given on when the stocks will actually arrive, even T-Mobile states that the devices will be ready by shipping after at least 7 days. (10 days for the XPERIA X10).
The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 was originally announced as the SE Rachael. Later rumors regarding the device labeled it as the XPERIA X3, in the same line as the two previous XPERIA phones that used the Windows Mobile operating system. It was later confirmed that the new phone would be named X10 and that it would be running the Google Android operating system and that it will have a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. The device also comes with an 8 mega pixel camera and a 4 inch capacitive touch screen display.
Taiwanese manufacturer is now offering the new HTC Desire. This Snapdragon powered Android smart phone will have a 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen display, a 5 mega pixel camera and video recording capabilities at 720p HD quality. The device will be using the HTC Sense user interface over the Android operating system. It has also become a favorite for many who are interested in getting a device similar to the Nexus One.

Vodafone’s April Offering Brings HTC Android Fun
Vodafone will be offering both the HTC Desire and the HTC Legend to Android fans when April arrives. The announcement has already been made months ago and with the recently updated pages for the devices on the operator’s website, eager fans can already check out the offered prices of the smart phone and possible tariffs for varying plans.
Of course, it comes as a given that unlimited internet access on 3G is a must have for those considering to get any of the two Android phones. The HTC Legend is currently the big ticket device despite its hardware being less than that of the desire. This mid-range phone is getting plenty of demand for its excellent balance of price and specs. It even comes in with a nicely styled aluminum casing.
The Legend is officially the sequel to the HTC Hero (another successful Android device from the Taiwanese manufacturer); it comes with a 3.2 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen, a 5 mega pixel camera and a Qualcomm 600 MHz CPU.
The Desire on the other hand is HTC’s high end Android gadget that is made for gear heads who want their phones to be on top of the scales. It uses a 1GHz Snapdragon processor for high speed loading and running of apps and functions. The 3.7 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen delivers both high quality images and accurate touch controls. Lastly, the 5 mega pixel camera not only comes with LED flash and autofocus, but it also allows for 720p video recording.
Vodafone UK is also offering other devices this coming April such as the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Android smart phone and the Google Phone Nexus One. Late April will see the operator offering the Apple iPad touch screen tablet on plans and tariff.

HTC’s Phones Coming this April
April will be a pretty busy month for the mobile phone industry as several impressive smart phones will be released. Sony Ericsson already has its SE XPERIA X10 Android smart phone and its Vivaz Symbian HD device lined up for release while Apple has set a late April release date for the 3G and non-3G versions of the new iPad tablet.
Things are also busy at the HTC camp as the Desire and the Legend are both expected to come out by April.
The Taiwanese manufacturer is bringing the sequel to the HTC Hero, the Legend to Vodafone’s store. So far, there is no word yet if the Legend will be offered by other operator. The smart phone comes with an aluminum casing, a 3.2 inch AMOLED capacitive touch screen, 5 mega pixel camera and a Qualcomm 600 MHz processor.
More widely available will the HTC Desire; this phone, originally called the Bravo will be launching around the same time as the Legend. It has already been confirmed that T-Mobile will be offering plans for the new Snapdragon Android while Orange and Vodafone are reportedly also going to have the device (though price offers from Orange and Vodafone are currently not yet available).
