LG BL40 Chocolate. Serenity itself…

Sometimes in the world of marketing and advertising, advertising and marketing monkeys get a little ahead of themselves. They think, for example, that just because the majority of people listen to most of what they say, that they can get away with saying just about anything.

But there is a simple maxim that we live by, and that helps us see through a lot of the BS that populates ads, press releases and other guff that gets peddled around whenever a new phone is released. The LG BL40 Chocolate, for example, has more guff, pap, nonesense and tosh riding along with it than any decent phone deserves. Take this gem for starters: “the serenity of its look speaks for itself.” The what who? How? Serenity can speak now? And the rules of grammar are no longer important, clearly. Then there is the fact that they talk about the LG BL40 Chocolate as being brilliant because it’s like “having a panoramic cinema in your pocket,” thanks to the 4.0-inch wide screen high-definition LCD with an 800 by 345 pixel resolution. Right. Okay. But… Erm… We’ve never wanted a panoramic cinema in our pocket. A cinema is something you go to and eat popcorn in front of, on some comfy seats, ideally (but not often in reality) alongside someone who’s going to share your popcorn and possibly a little of your saliva.

A phone, on the other hand, is something that sits comfortably in your pocket. Or maybe not. Maybe we’re out of date. Jaded. In fact, do you kids even go to the cinema these days? Or do you just download everything for free and upload it onto you phone and watch it on the bus, in between gobbing on passing strangers? That’s the only saliva sharing you do, right? Then you’re going to love these LG BL40 deals. You might not be able to understand it, but you’re going to enjoy the general content of this LG BL40 chocolate review. And this video below will make you all giddy with excitement as well, won’t it? Oh, how the time’s have changed…

LG GW300. Blogging about phones.

Now, without trying to sound, well, old and incredibly out of touch: what the hell is Twitter all about? Seriously. We’ve had a look. We’ve read about it. We’ve chuckled at various celebrities doing what celebrities do best on it (i.e. making fools out of themselves in a very public way). But… what… why… how… who?

Maybe our lives here are truly so sad that the idea of posting constant updates about what we’re doing would just crush our spirit too much.

2.23pm. Blogging about a phone.
4.56pm. Blogging about a different phone.
6.43pm. Still blogging about that last phone. It’s good.
8.33pm. Finished blogging about phone. Should go home.
9.05pm. Really should go home.

etc. and so on and so forth. We’re clearly not who Twitter is made for then. Which is why we’re happy to admit that the LG GW300 does not in any way, shape or form excite us, but we’re still writing about it because we realise it’s just not made for us. It is made for those who do understand Twitter. Those who think updating their Facebook status every 4 minutes is a thing the world needs. Those who are the ‘youth’ according to older people like us (and according to GSM Arena too). Because the GW300 offers no 3G, nor WiFi, no GPS. No nothing of note, in fact, beyond that big QWERTY keybaord. Because that’s its main – or its only – selling point. The plan, LG will tell you, Is that this ‘youth’ are going to see the keyboard, then see the (very) low price, and go swarming all over LG GW300 deals faster than, say, a group of teenagers grabbing free tickets to go see, erm, whoever sings crap pop songs these days. Are you one of those youths? Then have a little look at this LG GW300 review to see if the GW300 is something that’s going to give pleasure to your busy thumb tips.

LG GC990 Louvre. The names Blog, James Blog

If James Bond was slightly overweight, smelt of rum instead of Martini, had a scraggly beard and didn’t so much charm the ladies as worry them into filing complaints, then we would be exactly like James Bond. Because we have uncovered an international plot of doom, dear reader. Well, an international plot of mobile phone releasing, actually. But that’s as close as we’re ever going to get (which is just what our ex- screams at us these days when she spots that we’re 500 metres away on the high street, waving her silly little court papers in the air.)

The plot revolves around the LG Louvre, which as you can see from the picture is a typically chunky looking touchscreen phone. However, the other (and only other) picture of this thing that we couldn’t be arsed attaching, shows the back of the LG Louvre GC990, and there it becomes visible that this thing is a beast of a cameraphone, and a little run down of the specs backs that up. Because not only is this another of those 12 megapixel things, it’s also going to be recording video in HD (well, 1,280 x 720 pixels at 30fps), the first of any phone to combine these two things.

But, the plot thickens: LG are refusing to confirm that the Louvre will actually ever be released, claiming that it’s still a concept phone and so isn’t even guaranteed a release ever, let alone any time specific.

But then isn’t this what they always say? Don’t all manufacturers uhm and ahh and play with our fragile emotions while knowing full well that they’re going to release something just to generate more rumours and blog articles like, well, just like this one… well, yes they do. And us suckers keep falling for it. A dastardly plot indeed.

While LG are putting the finishing touches on their press release then, you can have a little look at this LG Louvre review, or at the current crop of absolutely definitely real LG mobile phones.

The LG GT505. Super duper exclusive. Kind of

Sometimes blog writers get lazy. They steal some information. Or just rehash old information from previous posts and pretend it’s something new. And seeing as how we can find practically nothing different about the LG GT505 compared to the previously blogged about LG GT500 (Puccini), we’re not going to pretend otherwise. The only difference, in fact, is that the GT500 is available only on T-Mobile, whereas the GT505 is available on Orange.

Something whiffs slightly bad about this to us… we thought the whole idea of networks having “exclusives” is that they’re, well, exclusive. “Look at us!” say Orange, “we’ve got the one and only GT505, exclusively, and it’s all ours!”

“Well balls to you,” says T-Mobile, “we’re the only network with the GT500 in the whole wide world ever.” And so and and so forth. Doesn’t it seem a little dodgy? Couldn’t every network end up clamouring for exclusive, only for phone manufacturers to simply change a digit in a phone’s title without actually changing anything about the phone itself. It seems all a little too like that annoying thing Footlocker do when they say they have exclusives on a pair of trainers, but all they’ve got is the same trainers everyone else has, just in a slightly different (and usually terrible) colour scheme.

And does it mean that if you get hold of a LG GT505 (which all in all, is not a bad phone at all, really, as this LG GT505 review shows) and tipex in another digit, or change that ’0′ to an ’8′, you’ll have a one off, once in a lifetime, world exclusive? Well, yes, yes it does. And if anyone wants to buy the GT585 off us, drop us a line and we’ll start haggling.

The LG GW520. Push it real good.

There’s few worse things than having what the Germans call an ‘ear worm.’ That’s their wonderfully apt phrase to describe what it means when you get a song stuck in your head. And unfortunately for us, since we’ve been delving into the world of the GW520, we’ve got the Salt’n Pepa number ‘Push It’ stuck in our minds and it just won’t leave. The reason is that the GW520 is one of the first affordable phones to offer push technology to its users. That means that you can set the phone up to alert you (by popping up / otherwise making obvious) everytime emails come in to you or someone updates their Facebook status.

To some people that might sound like a terrible idea, but we think there’s going to be more than a fair few who will love it. And with the large QWERTY keyboard, this is clearly a phone that’s promoting function over aesthetics. Some other features of the LG GW520 include:

  • 2.8″ full touchscreen
  • Slide-out QWERTY keypad
  • Push email via Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync
  • HSPDA 7.2
  • 3G enabled
  • WAP 2.0 browser
  • 3-megapixel camera
  • LG’s LiveSquare feature

read a LG GW520 review here for even more details. And altogether now: push it real good!

LG Puccini (LG GT500). No heartbreaker. But no heart attack either

Even though it’s named after the world famous composer, the LG GT500 Puccini is not a phone LG have been singing from the rooftops about. All-singing, all-dancing it is not. But that’s not to say it’s going to die quicker than an overweight, heart-attack prone opera singer. (Apologies to any opera-singer readers out there…) The LG GT500 Puccini does have (just about) enough going for it to suggest it might fare not too badly come its imminent release. With an ample, if not huge, 3 inch touchscreen, some impressive looking connectivity stats and a fantastic camera, we think this might find a home in a fair way budget-minded people who still want a little bit of flair in their life. In fact, it’s not at all a short list of things to look forward to with this handset:

  • 3.0″ 400 x 240 pixel touchscreen
  • high speed EDGE offering something the mobile equivalent of broadband speeds
  • GPS
  • Bluetooth and USB
  • Comprehensive email support
  • 5MP camera
  • Video recording

But that’s not all. Take a look at these numbers (and there’s even more in this LG Puccini review if you want):
107 x 56 x 12 mm
86 grams
Talk time: up to 200 minutes
Stand by time: up to 350 hours

And you start to see that the GT500 Puccini is more than just an average Joe of a phone. Maybe only just, but we reckon this will be making those who don’t need all the latest, flashiest gadgets more than happy.

LG GD900 crystal, style over substance?

If you are looking at LG GD900 Crystal then you are looking at the world’s first transparent phone ever! With a glowing keypad when slided out, this beauty is sure to be the phone every phone lover is going to be after once it’s released in April. LG announced about the release of this particular model at the Mobile World Conference 2009.

And by the looks of it, the GD900 Crystal is definitely going to create a fashion statement on its own. What really amazed the crowd was the fact that the translucent keypad does not contain any chip or any wiring attached to it which makes anyone starts wondering how this thing actually works.

However LG has not released any information on specifications for this phone. This in itself has a positive impact on the publicity for the GD900 Crystal as everybody want to find out what features it has in store for them. However you can obtain a fairly basic idea about this phone if you see the official press release. All we know is that it’s extremely slim at only 13mm, has got fast 3G internet connectivity and also that it has a secondary VGA camera at the front for video calls purposes.

So by now your mind is running through the obvious fact: the price. Obviously such a sophisticated phone must cost a fortune especially if you want to buy it as soon as it’s introduced to the market. But you don’t need to worry about it anymore. There are various deals on LG GD900 Crystal which will enable you to pay little by little and buy it. By using GD900 Crystal contracts you get to own an expensive item without having to worry about its price.

So if you’re planning on owning this magnificent device you’d better stay updated about the various deals available from networks around the world for LG GD900 Crystal.

LG phones really amaze me with their technology and stylish look. If you feel the same way, don’t hesitate to check out some of the latest innovations by LG including the GD900 Crystal.

LG KT770

KT770 is the latest addition to the LG Series 60. LG made the announcement of releasing this model at the Mobile World Conference 2009 Barcelona. LG does not usually depend on the Windows Media operating system and it is the same in the case of KT770. This new model runs on Symbian v9.3 S60 3rd Edition Feature Pack 2.

The phone is 15.8mm thick and looks average. This sliding phone is quad-band and global roaming enabled. It has got a 5 megapixel autofocus camera coupled with face & smile detection, panaroma and digital zoom. The screen is 2.8 inches WQVGA (240x400pixels). Battery is a Li-Ion 950mAh; however the talktime and standby time is unknown. There is inbuilt GPS and you can get fast access to the internet using 7.2Mbps HSDPA. The internal memory is 1GB/2GB (as this phone comes in those 2 different capacities) and both these capacities can be extended to 16GB using microSD slot. It can store a call list (dialed, received & missed) of 40 each. It is said that this could be a good competitor for Samsung Omnia HD.

If you’re planning on buying a KT770, you’re going to need a good service provider for the network. For this purpose you need to check out the LG KT770 contracts and deals available for your region. You have the option to choose a network according to your preferences. You results will vary on call time and number of SMSs. LG KC910i Renoir

Dedicated in the name of the world renowned painter Pierre-Aguste Renoir, the latest addition to the LG’s Renoir collection is the KC910i which was introduced to the world on Pierre’s anniversary. The KC910i is slightly different than its predecessor the KC910 with the changes almost unseen and unfelt by the user. The new model however is sleeker and slimmer. And they have also taken off the lens protector.

Apart from these apparent changes, the KC910i is almost the same as KC910. The significantly attractive feature being the 8megapixel camera, which has a video recording speed of 30fps in normal mode and 120fps in slow motion, enables LG to join the 8MP club with several other mobile phone competitors already having introduced it. The camera is also smile & blink detection enabled and comes with digital image stabilizer & autofocus.

Other features include 2.0 Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, high speed internet with HSDPA 7.2Mbps and extendable memory up to 16GB. The inbuilt GPS gives the possibility of geo-tagging photos with the relevant coordinates. Furthermore it’s loved by all music lovers as it supports Dolby Sounds and video formats such as XviD and DivX can be played.

Now you know about the phone. Next thing to be done is to look for a suitable contract or deal. There are contracts and deals available specifically for LG KC910i Renoir. This will help you select the contract or deal you can afford depending on your financial ability. These deals for KC910i Renoir will vary on the call time as well as the number of text messages you want. If you decide to go for one of the popular network deals available for KC910i Renoir you’d also be benefited with numerous gifts and accessories to go with your phone.

Also please do take your time and check out these options LG is offering as you are guaranteed to be provided with the best products.

The LG Chocolate 3 – A Great Music Phone

The brand new LG Chocolate 3 payg is a phone that was released in July 2008 and offers a good set of high quality features which are ideal for personal users. The phone is equipped with a 2 mega pixel camera, a media player and FM radio. The phone also has expandable memory. I’ve also seen a few LG Chocolate 3 reviews which seems to indicate that this phone is a great music phone and will be a great asset to any personal user. The phone’s features are great and I’d highly recommend this phone to anyone who wants a personal mobile phone that’s good value for money.
I’ve also seen a lot of LG Chocolate 3 deals available and I think that as we approach Christmas I think there will be a lot of mobile deals and offers. The LG Chocolate 3 contracts will probably be available for free on most networks and that is always a good thing to see. All in all, the LG Chocolate 3 is a great phone and it’ll probably do very well in terms of sales. It’s a great looking phone as well which always makes a difference in terms of sales.
Overall, the LG Chocolate 3 is a great phone and it has a nice look to it which will make it all the more popular. The phone has a good set of features and is ideal for personal users who enjoy entertainment features. I’ve also seen a few LG Chocolate 3 videos which are well worth watching if you’re interested in this phone as it’ll show you the phone in action and allow you to see the phone’s features in a lot more detail than I can describe here. All in all, the LG Chocolate 3 is a great phone and well worth the purchase in my opinion.
