Nokia X6 – Awesome successor to the Nokia 5800

Nokia X6The Nokia X6 has generated a lot of buzz ever since it was unveiled at the Nokia World event held in Germany earlier this year. Though the buzz wasn’t as much as that generated for the unveiling of the N97 Mini and the N900, the phone has drawn a fair amount of attention. The phone is the first S60v5 phone to have been released in the newly created X-series of Nokia mobile phones.

The phone comes in the candybar form factor and looks really fresh and very trendy and is surely targeted at the younger segment of the market. The inbuilt memory of the phone is 32 GB, which is good enough to store as many songs as you like. The microUSB port is at the top of the phone and enables you to communicate with the PC, thereby enabling you to transfer images and videos from the phone as well as to upload songs to the phone from the PC.

The 3.2 inch widescreen display is capacitive, meaning that it is much easier for you to navigate through the phone, as you can do this with a swipe of your finger. The fact that it is scratch – resistant means that you don’t have to worry too much about it when you put it in your pocket.

The phone has a 5 megapixel camera which comes with autofocus and has a Carl Zeiss optics lens, meaning that the pictures you take will be extra sharp. The VGA video recording ensures that the videos you capture are of the highest quality. The other specifications of the phone include the FM radio, A-GPS and some games. The phone has a 3.5 mm headset jack as well. The phone is made from plastic.

Nokia X6 Reviews sound good, so make sure you get the phone when it is released in the last quarter of this year for 400 pounds or alternatively pick up one of the great Nokia X6 contracts.

Nokia X6. Big hands = big… phone?

Nokia used to annoy us with their ridiculous self-promotional videos for new phones. We used to plug our ears as some royalty free track kicked in (or limped in, more like). We used to hammer our screens as some ham acting commenced. Start shouting at the world in general as some unpaid lackey turned the phone around and around and around and stroked it like it was some kind of exotic pet.

However, with time and a little rum, we’ve actually learnt to appreciate these little works of art. Much like how stupid camp films from the 60′s or other previously ‘undiscovered’ works in cinema get talked about years after the squalorific deaths of everyone who worked on them have passed, we think these videos are… well, let’s not go to far, let’s just say we can now watch these videos without sicking in our empty rum tumbler a little. Take the video below, for example, attempting as it does to tell us all about the rather fancy new Nokia X6. Here’s three things that we think you can learn from this video

1.When attempting to show how relatively thin and sleek your phone is, don’t use a Finnish elf with tiny bird like hands as your main protagonist. This will make your handset appear large and cumbersome
2.If, as it should be the case with the Nokia X6, you want to show how fantastically musical and in tune with modern technology your device is, don’t use as your back a magazine cover featuring Led Zeppelin and Pearl Jam. The kids aren’t really into Pearl Jam so much these days
3.If, again as you should be with the X6, you’re proud of, say, all the things it does (using it’s S60 operating system and fantastic software) and, say, the screen that is used to see all these things that it does (the wonderful 3.2” touchscreen, as it were), then don’t make what seems like a deliberate attempt to reflect the sun in said screen during the ‘this is how it works + some gratuitous elf cleavage’ shot. Because then you won’t be able to see the screen

Ah, how future generations will marvel at this work. Anti-marketing, they will call it. A stupendously clever ploy to break through the media-saturated-cynicism of the youth of the early 21st century.

So, embrace the future, read this Nokia X6 review, go check out these Nokia X6 deals, and see if you can get the mental image of ‘elf cleavage’ out of your mind this week. Go on, we dare you.
